ASSOCIATION MANAGEMENT GROUP CEO PAUL MENGERT
ELECTED TO CHAIR HOA LEGISLATIVE ACTION COMMITTEE

Mengert Brings Vision, 30+ Years of Experience
as Advocate for North Carolina Homeowners

(CHARLOTTE, NC) -- Paul K. Mengert, founder and CEO of Association Management Group, one of the Carolinas’ largest professional homeowner association managers, has been elected chair of the Community Associations Institute’s (CAI) NC Legislative Action Committee. Mengert was voted in by his NC CAI chapter peers and will serve a two-year term.

An important part of this grassroots organization is to monitor and share information about legislation that may affect communities, Mengert noted. “Our job is to work toward legislative solutions that are right for homeowners and their associations,” Mengert said.  “Surveys of community members indicate they do not want additional government regulation, preferring for the elected leaders of each community to make decisions for their neighborhood. It’s an honor to chair this committee and work in the best interest of community members and their associations.”

The NC CAI serves the educational, business and networking needs of community associations, and works to preserve, protect and enhance community associations across the state. One of the largest CAI chapters in the country with more than 850 members, NC LAC is composed of condominium, cooperative and homeowner association members, leaders, managers and industry professionals.

NC LAC has been a vital partner with State legislators, working with them to formulate the North Carolina Planned Community Act (State Statute 47F) to provide reasonable protections to homeowners, and other laws relating to community associations.

Community Associations Institute is the national association serving community associations nationwide and internationally. CAI provides education and tools to community volunteer leaders and board members as well as industry professionals, with the end goal of creating successful, harmonious neighborhoods.
